Amadeus (Play) IN DANISH

Vienna 1781. Rumours are already rife when Court Composer Salieri first meets young Mozart. Salieri realises that the infantile and maladjusted Mozart is gifted with the unique musical talent of a true genius. Salieri decides to supress the genius to save himself. Mozart fails to grasp the royal courtly power play – and buckles under.

Peter Shaffer’s modern classic Amadeus premiered in Denmark in 1982 at the Royal Danish Theatre, but is also famous from Milos Forman’s acclaimed film version released in 1984.

Director of the Royal Danish Theatre Kasper Holten will be staging this unique introduction to Mozart’s music and combining the arts at the wonderful Old Stage.

Søren Sætter-Lassen will perform the demanding role of Salieri with young star Simon Bennebjerg as Mozart.

Expected duration: 3 hours incl. 1 intermission
